Kindershare insurance coverage – overview

Our Insurance Policy covers a Kindershare user for their liability to third parties for personal injury or property damage in relation to the rental of children’s equipment through the Kindershare platform.

Our insurance is provided by Ansvar Insurance Limited (ABN 21 007 216 506), a specialist insurance company with over 50 years of experience in the Australian insurance market.

What is covered and not covered?

Our Insurance Policy is a public and product liability insurance policy covering a Kindershare user for up to A$20 million for their liability to third parties for personal injury or property damage in relation to the rental of children’s equipment through the Kindershare platform.

Our Insurance Policy does not cover all tasks or activities. For example, some of the exclusions under our Insurance Policy include:

  • children’s equipment that doesn’t comply with an applicable standard published by
  • Standards Australia or Standards New Zealand
  • children’s equipment that is over 7 years old at the time of listing
  • any liability where personal injury is covered by a compulsory insurance policy;
  • any liability arising from high risk activities, products or operations.

Only registered users of Kindershare are covered by our Insurance Policy.

Our Insurance Policy is also not available if Kindershare users bypass or rent the children’s equipment outside of the Kindershare platform (e.g. where rental is paid by alternative means, such as cash in hand, outside of the platform).

Our Insurance Policy relates to third party liability. It does not cover theft, loss or damage to any children’s equipment rented out via the Kindershare platform. Coverage for theft, loss or damage may be available to an owner of children’s equipment separately under the Kindershare Guarantee, which is explained in our Terms and Conditions.

All coverage is subject to the Insurance Policy’s terms and conditions and any exclusions that apply.
